What is 2020? It’s a new year, a new decade — it’s perfect vision. This year, we want to take a look (with 20/20 vision) into the past, present, and future at ideas worth sharing that were overlooked, that will change the world, and that all of us can do right now to make a more meaningful impact.
TEDxValparaisoUniversity speakers must come with an idea that is worth spreading. Speakers that are chosen for TEDxValparaisoUniversity are able to tell a story and argue for an idea using credible proof. Program speakers may not use the TEDx stage to sell products, promote themselves, or advance notions that cannot be defended with well-founded evidence.
Program Submission Deadline: October 30, 2020

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 25 years ago, TED has grown into a global platform for identifying and spreading world-changing ideas. The annual TED Conference and TEDGlobal Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak about their Big Ideas for up to 18 minutes. And their talks are then made available for free at TED.com and through TED distribution partners.
In the spirit of Ideas Worth Spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussions and connections in a small group.
Independently organized TED events are branded TEDx, with the “x” indicating that the event is independent. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program; however, individual TEDx events are all self-organized—but also subject to certain rules and regulations.
Unlike other conferences, TED is a learning experience more akin to interval training on a treadmill or elliptical. You can expect deep-dive sessions featuring interdisciplinary speakers, followed by extended breaks that allow you to take in all the inspiration and insight while connecting with other attendees. This cycle repeats itself throughout the day.
